“The Beauty of the Skin Reveals the Beauty from Within”

The skin is the largest organ in our bodies. It contains an intelligent network of energy that reflects on the outside, the condition of our health on the inside. When our bodies are sick and congested, our skin manifests eruptions, rashes, scaling, broken capillaries, fungus, and other irregularities. When our bodies are well nourished, rested and circulating well from dynamic body movement, our skin takes on a special glow.

This soft supple material we call skin has the amazing ability to morph itself from the sensuous protective barrier we wear on our bodies into the unique strands of our hair or our hard durable nails, simply by rearranging its collagen molecules. Our skin dutifully houses our immune cells, blood vessels, nerve fibers, oil & sweat glands and fat cells and helps maintain their vital functions. Therefore, our skin requires continued maintenance to insure the proper functioning of the vast network of activity it regularly serves.

Purity: When caring for our skin, we should consider putting nutrients on our bodies that are virtually safe to eat. Our porous skin absorbs whatever we apply, which penetrates into our bloodstream, organs, and tissues. Excito-toxins and xenoestrogens found in additives and preservatives, can store in our fat tissues resulting in hormone imbalances and abnormal cell activity. Therefore it is extremely important to avoid putting synthetic chemicals on and into our bodies, even in minute levels-- because the effects are cumulative.

For the Face:

Cleansing & Exfoliation: The face, neck and chest should be cleansed with a natural mild hydrating cleanser. Exfoliating cleansers should be used with caution by using gentle strokes on the face, and avoiding the delicate capillaries around the cheeks. The skin should be treated with a warm water wash to open and cleanse the pores, and a cool water rinse to close the pores and stimulate blood flow throughout the face, neck and chest.

Masking: Masks nourish & balance the skin. Specially formulated masks either provide hydration to dry skin or balance the oil content in overly active oily skin. A premium mask may include vitamins, sea algae and minerals to provide intensive nutrition to the skin.

Toning: An effective toner applied with a cotton pad will balance the PH of the skin, deepen the cleansing of the pores, and allow for a smoother distribution of nourishing serums and moisturizers to the skin.

Nourishing (Oils & Serums): Oils and serums provide intensive nutrition targeted to address specific skin types. Vitamin C Serum has fast become one of the most essential serums for maintaining youthful elasticity in the skin while providing a protective anti-oxidant barrier against free radicals.

Moisturizing: A good moisturizer will not only hydrate the skin, but will balance the oil content in the skin and provide added protection against the ravages of the environment. In the case of acne skin types, oil-free moisturizers balance the dehydrating effects of acne serum (containing plant acids) applied beforehand.

As with Serums, place a dime size portion in the palm of your hands, place your hands together and gently the spread product towards fingers. Use your hands to gently
pat and distribute a thin layer of the moisturizer all over the face, neck and chest.
A quality product requires that you use a modest amount, which also allows your skin to breathe while being nourished and hydrated.

Daytime Sun Screen: Carefully select a sunscreen that is primarily free of synthetic chemicals. Ideally, it is best to find a natural day moisturizer that contains natural
sunscreen properties such as Jojoba oil, Sangre De Drago, etc.

For the Body:

Skin Brushing: Skin brushing stimulates your skin and capillaries while moving toxins out of your body through the lymph system. Use a soft bristle body brush and gently stroke the skin in upward movement movements from the extremities towards the heart. Skin brushing is an excellent health ritual prior to showering or
bathing.

Cleansing & Exfoliation:
The body and the hair should be cleaned with hydrating essential oil cleansers and shampoos free from preservatives and toxic agents. It is hard to find products that do not contain the foaming agent sodium laurel sulfate which is not only toxic to the cornea, can be disruptive to the balance of the skin PH and weakening to the immune system. But they do exist! Follow a warm/hot shower with a cold/cool rinse to stimulate lymphatic circulation and enliven the cells in the body.

Massaging & Moisturizing: Our skin and our bodies respond to touch and therefore benefit greatly from massage. Each day when you are applying your oils or creams, give yourself the ritual of a gentle loving massage and regularly receive a massage from a loved one or trusted practitioner. Experience often the healing benefits of conscious touch!
